Photo Story

1. Describe your understand of your story.
Community Service with Jamestown and PTFC soccer clinic
2. Describe your "shooting script".

For my shooting script I will look for different situations and interactions with players and coaches since there are a lot of members on my team and a lot of campers I do not think it will be hard to get a picture that I want, but I can look to take each picture from a different angle maybe some from the stands looking down at the clinic and other shots that are on the field with the players that are more personal.
3. What are your ideas for:
 a. Three basic shots- The long shot: the camp as a whole, The medium shot: Coaching closer in on a lesson, The short shot: one on one interaction with the kids
 b. lead photo- Team coaching the little kids
 c. portrait- a close up shot of my coach because he is the leader of the clinics
 d. interaction- I will be on the field next to the players as they are playing to get a closer and more detailed picture
 e. the sequence- one in the beginning of the clinic and than as the clinic progresses I could get different drills of the kids doing them
 f. detail shot- a cleat and a soccer ball
 g. the closer- of the whole camp during the end of the clinic rapping things up

Campaign Project
Subject: Mac Makeup

We took an image of a human eye and broke it down to its basic structure. We than drew with the paint brush on photoshop to make the eye lines as basic and simple as possible. Than, we wrote our company name which is MAC, coming off the side of the eye liner to make it look as if it were a part of the eye liner.

Podcast Review
The name of the podcast that I listened to was called Faculty of Horror: Episode 4. Do You Like Scary Movies? It was hosted by Alex West and Andrea. I found the show on the website, http://www.podomatic.com/directory under the podcast category of TV/Film. During the podcast that I listened to, Alex West and Andrea talked about the most popular horror films and scenes that tend to scare people the most and traumas that they have experienced as well. They also talked about fear and some of the basic elements in fear in which people experience. They also talk about how everything goes from the real to that abstraction while watching horror films. In this podcast sound affects are used. They play small clips from certain scenes of movies such as the Women and Black, The Return to Oz and the Blair Witch Project along with many more. They do not over use sound effects or music they play them at appropriate times during the podcast. I thought that playing clips from different horror films really added to this podcast so you can really get a feeling of the fright in each film. They also read e-mails from an editor of a magazine. The host play clips from people whom they have interviewed asking them about which films have scared them the most. I would recommend this podcast. It was interesting to hear other points of views on horror films and which movies scare people more than others. It also made me want to see some horror movies in which were mentioned and talked about in this podcast and having the host share their experiences made it even more influencing to.

"This American Life" Podcast Review: Switched at Birth

The podcast that I listened to told the story of two women, Kay McDonald and Mary Miller daughters were switched at birth and raised by the wrong families. One of the mothers knew about this mistake the day after the daughters were brought home, but chose to keep quiet for the past forty years. This podcast tells the different stories from both daughters, Sue McDonald and Marti Miller as well from the mothers perspective. This situation changed both families lives.

In the first segment of the podcast, it told the story from both perspectives of each daughter. The first story told was from Sue McDonald. After forty-three years she received letters from her birth mother explaining what had happened and the secret which was kept between the mothers. She was dealing with the conflict of meeting her biological family and fitting in with them without her family who raised her knowing. Once she told her non-biological family they did not want to believe in such a thing and the only way she could resolve it was from getting a DNA test and showing them the letters which were received and ones she did not send out. She was more worried about Marti being a cheerleader and the popular child that her biological family would not accept her for who she was. The Second half of this segment told the story of Marti Miller and her point of view on the story. She was dealing with the conflict in which both families seemed to want Sue. However, before she found out the news she met with Sue in which she was told the story. She reacted differently in a way because she was more afraid to meet her biological family, but the only way she knew how to resolve this was to meet them. However, she was receiving letters at the time to with her birth parents saying her full name with their last name instead of the one in which she was raised with which scared Marti off more than wanting to be interested in this problem.

In the second segment of this podcast told the story from both perspectives of the mothers. The first story was told from Kay McDonald. She refused to cope with the idea that their daughters were switched at birth and she had a hard time warming up to the idea that another family had raised her own daughter. Kay McDonald was angry that Mary Miller high jacked her life and did not tell her the news forty-three years ago when this mistake was first realized. The second story was told from Mary Miller. Mary Miller always had suspicions that the daughters were switched at birth from the beginning and the news spread throughout the two churches in which both women attended, however, nobody ever mentioned a word about the incident until it was found out to be true and than many people started questioning the two mothers. The bigger issue to this segment was the fact that Mary Miller did not come clean about why she did not tell Kay McDonald about the switch happening and why was she so tormented by the secret.

Vox Pop Proposal

I am going to ask High Point students, If someone was to right a story about your life what would they title it? I am going to ask this question because I feel as though it is a good way to get to know people here at HPU and it will make them think about there lives as well and what characteristics represent them most.
